There are many ways to effectively deal with kidney stones naturally using homeopathic medicines. If you are dealing with kidney stone pain and are reluctant to see a doctor (or don’t have the money for surgery) then perhaps you should seek a natural kidney stone remedy.
Kidney stones are usually not detected until and unless they begin to hurt and they hurt really bad. While inside the kidney, they are virtually painless and the really small sized stones pass through on their own. However, the larger kidney stones, while trying to pass with the urine, tend to block the ureters. This becomes painful since the blockage disallows normal urine flow. The situation becomes worse if the blockage causes bacteria to grow resulting in UTI. The most immediate course of action is a visit to the doctor.
The medications depend on the size and location of the kidney stones. A majority of all reported kidney stones are less than 5 mm in size. This means that the stone is small enough to pass on its own without medical intervention. Only about 10% of kidney stones actually require medical procedures. The doctor recommends drinking lots and lots of water or other fluids. Appropriately, drinking 2 glasses of water every couple of hours should make the stone pass through comfortably. Caution should be taken while drinking fluids apart from water. Grapefruit juice should be avoided at all costs as it may cause formation of more stones.
If the kidney stones are lodged in the ureter, then the doctors advise some Non prescription medicine, such as non steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs) to relieve the pain. At times, certain medicines like alpha blockers and calcium channel blockers also help to pass the stone quickly and easily. The average stone passes within one to three weeks with medications. The non-treated stone may even disappear within four weeks of
the appearing of the symptoms. At times, there may be requirement of a surgical procedure if the kidney stone has not passed even after a considerable length of time or if the stone is too big to pass on its own. If the blocked kidney stone is causing UTI or damages the kidney causing bleeding, then too surgical procedure is a must.
Some procedures that the doctors undertake for such cases are:
ESWL Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy: this shock wave therapy is non-invasive and typically involves sending shock waves, under local anaesthesia, through the body that shatter the stones into tiny pieces that can pass easily.
Percutaneous nephrolithotomy or nephrolithotripsy: also called tunnel surgery, this involves sending narrow telescope through an incision in the patient’s back into the kidney where the stone is located. It is done under general anaesthesia. The kidney stone is then either removed straightaway or broken and removed. This procedure is kept for either very large stones or where the ESWL does not work.
Ureteroscopy: a ureteroscope- thin telescopic tube is passed through the urethra into the urinary tract where the kidney stone is stuck. This is also done under general anaesthesia. The telescope contains a camera so that the doctor can see where the stone is. A cage-like contraption is used to capture and remove the stone. Alternately it can be broken and removed too.
The last option remains an open surgery which is totally invasive and involves making a cut into the side or the belly of the patient and removing the stone. This is a very rare treatment and used only when nothing else works.

If you have problems with your immune system, you are most likely to get frequent bouts of flu, cold and some of those minor infections. Antibiotics are indeed the wonder drugs that they are made out to be, but recklessness in their use is not recommended.
Your body’s immune system is the first line of defense against foreign invaders: pathogens, bacteria, viruses, parasites or anything that can potentially cause disease. The thymus, spleen, lymphatic system and tonsils are all part of this extensive network of organs, tissues and cells including white blood cells, which help in self healing. Herbs for immune system and natural foods should be made a part of your daily routine to strengthen this complex system.
It is a misnomer that antibiotics can treat and cure all viral and bacterial infections. Antibiotics do not have any affect on viruses and unnecessary administration can actually be counter productive. It can make your body immune to the drug and lead to bringing down of immunity. A natural antibiotic alternative can go a long way to help in prevent further damage that drugs can potentially cause and relieve symptoms as well.
Low immunity is either primary or acquired. Primary conditions are mostly due to a genetic predisposition. Acquired conditions of low immunity are greatly affected by eating habits, lifestyle and overuse of medication for minor ailments like common cold etc.
There is scientific evidence that a natural diet, herbal antibiotics and an active lifestyle boost your immune system health and help in avoiding simple diseases as common cold or life threatening diseases like cancer.
* Vitamin A, C and E are most essential for maintaining immune system health. A handful of almonds daily will provide you sufficient quantity of Vitamin E. guava, oranges and other citrus fruits are a natural source of Vitamin C.
* Garlic is perhaps the oldest cultivated plant in the world and its history as an effective herbal antibiotic and a booster for the immune system dates back to the days when the pyramids were built. It is natural builder of white blood cells, one of the most important constituents of the immune system.
* Carrots and other red, orange and dark green vegetables contain carotenes, which are converted into Vitamin A by the liver. These are extremely helpful for protecting thymus gland. The thymus is a ductless glandular organ at the base of the neck that produces lymphocytes. It plays an important role in producing immunity and preventing atrophies due to advanced age
* Zinc is another element that is essential for immunity. The element is next only to iron in concentration in the body. Its deficiency can impact the immune system in more ways than one. It acts as a catalyst in immune responses for killing pathogens and necessary for white blood cells to perform their functions. Peanuts, peanut butter, and legumes and dark meat of chicken, beef and lamb are excellent sources of zinc.
* Six ounces of natural and fresh yogurt every day keeps the intestinal flora healthy for proper digestion. The yogurt bacteria convert the lactose in milk into lactic acid, which is perfect for maximizing calcium absorption, vaginal and bladder infections.
* Among the herbs for immune system, Echinacea and the Ayuredic herb, Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) are worth mentioning for their stimulating affect on the immune system.
There is an old saying that says that whenever in doubt: go back to nature. A natural lifestyle and daily exercise coupled with fresh home cooked meals will keep many ailments at bay.

Native Remedies is by far my favorite natural medicine for humans and they have a new line of products for pets called Petalive.
Diabetes, chronic fatigue, arthritis, digestive disorders, cystitis, kidney and liver disease, skin disorders, thyroid dysfunction, obesity and other problems are all covered by these healthy medicines. And just like over the counter drugs for people I’d rather trust a natural medicine for my dog. Side effects can be the same for animals as they are for animals and the worst part is your dog or cat can’t tell you how they are feeling, ya know?
