Do you have any problems with your balance? Have you ever felt like the room is moving around you, when it is not? If so, you may have in inner ear balancing problem.
The body’s ability to achieve balance is an amazing, and often under appreciated, process. All of the credit for our balance relies on the vestibular system and visual system, working together. These two factors and the body’s amazing sense of where it is at in space, or proprioception, allows us to maintain our balance.
This is how it works: In order to keep objects in focus the eyes (visual system) work with the ears (vestibular system) when the head is moving around. If the head is tilted or the body’s position changes, in respect to gravity, a displacement of tiny stones in your ears causes hair cells to bend. Irregularities in these tiny objects will quickly cause us to lose our balance.
Losing your balance is unnerving, but there are ways to help alleviate these symptoms. Most of them are obvious and important to overall health, as well. Eat healthy meals regularly, sleep regularly, and use natural remedies. Be sure to have your blood pressure checked just to be sure. Dizziness and faintness are often side effects of low blood pressure.

2. Give yourself a break every 30 – 40 minutes when working on the computer
3. Eye products should not be shared. Cosmetics such as eyeliners, mascaras and eye pencils should be thrown away when they are past their expiration date.
4. Never read in darkened rooms.
5. Always wear sunglasses when the outside glare is too bright.
6. Eye hygiene is essential and it is a good idea to keep contact lenses in sterile fluid when not in use.
7. Practice eye exercises to build up strength in the muscles of your eyes. Alternate your focus on near and far objects and focus on objects to the left and the right without moving your head.
8. Home remedies for healthy eyes most popularly feature organic teas and cucumber and potato slices to relieve puffiness. Recently, research has confirmed this age old wisdom. Eye supplements typically include vitamins that are good for the eye such as Vitamin C, E, B2, and the minerals Zinc and Selenium. Newer eye supplements include Lutein.
9. Refrain from watching television in poorly lit areas.
